Ai Galli Chardonnay Frizzante IGT

AI Galli Chardonnay Frizzante is a semi-sparkling white from the Veneto, bottled at IGT level and made from Chardonnay. As a frizzante it carries a softer, gentler fizz than a fully sparkling wine, with the second fermentation in pressurised stainless steel to keep the fruit fresh and the aromatics primary. Chardonnay here is picked for a fresh, unoaked style, giving citrus and orchard fruit rather than any toasted or buttery character. It is bottled young and finished dry.

The colour is pale straw with a soft, fine bead. The nose leads on green apple, lemon and pear, with white flowers and a hint of white peach behind, while the palate is dry, crisp and lightly frothy with melon fruit and a clean finish. Serve well chilled at around 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass, as an aperitif or with light salads, white fish and shellfish.
