Description
The 8 Doors Distillery Five Ways Blended Liqueur is a whisky liqueur from John O'Groats in the far north of Scotland, bottled at 22%. This small, independent distillery works in small batches, building Five Ways on a blend of Scotch whisky, orange, ginger, honey and selected spices for a rich, savoury sweet profile. The pairing of Scotch with honey, orange and warm spice is its defining idea, giving a mild, versatile liqueur with a clear regional identity.
The nose is orange oil, honey, spicy ginger and fine spice, the palate sweet, spicy and full bodied with honey, orange, ginger, gentle whisky notes and aromatic spices, finishing long, warm and harmonious with a spicy sweetness. Behind the bar it adds honeyed sweetness, warm baking spice and a whisky thread, which suits it to a hot toddy, a long drink with ginger ale or tonic, and as an aromatic component in whisky based cocktails. It pairs with desserts such as orange cake and apple pie, works well in winter hot drinks, and can be enjoyed neat. Serve it warm in a toddy or long over ice.
