Description

Drumshanbo's Shed Distillery built a reputation on its Gunpowder Irish Gin, and this flavoured edition gives the recipe a tropical detour. The eponymous gunpowder tea, a Chinese green tea, threads a slightly spicy depth through carefully chosen botanicals, while Brazilian pineapple is folded in for a vivid, fruity lift. The result keeps the distillery's restless, inventive streak intact while reading as something altogether sunnier.

The nose offers fresh pineapple and citrus over fine herbs and a quiet hint of tea. The palate is fruity and animated, pineapple and citrus playing against juniper with a light dusting of spice, and the finish is refreshing and long. Build it into a gin and tonic with a mild or lightly floral tonic, then garnish with fresh pineapple and a sprig of mint.
