Ripe fig and a whisper of bay leaf wrap around the citrus-and-tea backbone of Gunpowder gin, sweet and spicy at once. Built at The Shed Distillery in County Leitrim with Italian bartender Bruno Vanzan, it sets twelve botanicals and Chinese gunpowder tea against Mediterranean fruit. Soft, round and quietly Italian.

Description
This limited edition comes from The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo, Ireland, the home of Gunpowder gin, made in collaboration with the Italian bartender Bruno Vanzan. The familiar twelve-botanical bill is here, including angelica, coriander seed, orange and grapefruit peel and the signature Chinese gunpowder green tea that lends the gin its depth. To it Vanzan adds Italian fig and laurel, drawing the spirit south towards the Mediterranean. It is distilled in copper pot stills in small batches.
The nose is fresh and fruity with fig, laurel, citrus and fine juniper. The palate runs elegant and round, sweet fruitiness softened by gentle herbal spice and a slow tea complexity, before a long, soft, aromatic finish carries a Mediterranean warmth and a touch of bay. Serve over a Mediterranean tonic with a fresh fig and a bay leaf.
