Glen Moray Our Classic

Glen Moray from the distillery, at 40%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt and a pioneer of wine cask finishing. It was a pioneer of wine cask finishing, working with Chardonnay casks back in the 1990s.

The spirit was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, for the light, fruity make Glen Moray is known for. A refill bourbon hogshead held it, keeping the fresh, fruity character to the fore. Without an age statement, vanillin sweetness and an orchard fruit point to good years in oak. River Lossie water and the tall stills give the light Glen Moray make. Its water is drawn from the River Lossie, which runs past the distillery at Elgin. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. The clean, fruity spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and fruit to the fore. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style.

At 40% it is fresh, fruity and clean. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Beneath it run green apple, pear and a soft vanilla. The finish is long, fruity and clean. This is Glen Moray's clean, accessible Speyside style.
