A 15 year old Glen Moray, a distillery bottling, at 40%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from Elgin, known for its light, fruity and accessible style. Its water is drawn from the River Lossie, which runs past the distillery at Elgin.

Worked through the stills for a light, sweet make, giving a clean, sweet Speyside spirit. An ex-Bourbon barrel shaped it, vanillin lending vanilla under the apple. Through oxidative maturity esters concentrate, the apple turning honeyed and a soft dried fruit creeping in. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way. The accessible, fruity make is the base for the distillery's many cask finishes. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Glen Moray warehouses at Elgin. It has been owned since 2008 by the French house La Martiniquaise. The clean, fruity spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and fruit to the fore.

Bottled at 40%, it is rounded. Green apple, honey and a gentle oak, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Beneath it run green apple, pear and a soft vanilla. A fresh finish ends on apple and a soft oak. This is Glen Moray, a pioneer of cask finishing.
