This official Glen Moray, a 10 year old, at 40%. Glen Moray is a light, sweet Speyside malt, founded in 1897 on the banks of the River Lossie. It closed in 1910 and reopened in 1923 under Macdonald and Muir of Glenmorangie.

Made on River Lossie water and condensed in shell and tube condensers, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. Most Glen Moray begins in American oak ex-Bourbon, the base for its cask finishes. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper apple and pear. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. Its make is a key malt in the Cutty Sark and Label 5 blends. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style. Maturation in the bonded warehouses at Elgin is slow and steady.

At an approachable 40% it is light and easy. Baked apple, vanilla and a creamy toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A baked apple and a gentle spice lift it. A fresh finish ends on apple and a soft oak. This is a light, fruity Speyside single malt.
