Kingsbarns Bell Rock Limited Release

Bell Rock is a Kingsbarns expression named for the lighthouse off the Angus coast, this a Limited Release at 46% with Oloroso leading the ex-Bourbon. An outturn of 2,208 bottles. Founded in 2014 by the Wemyss family, Kingsbarns is a Lowland distillery in Fife's East Neuk.

Built in a restored farm steading near St Andrews, the distillery runs long-necked stills for a light, fruity, unpeated spirit that takes sherry well. Matured in Oloroso and ex-Bourbon casks, the sherry wood pulls the young malt towards dark fruit.

Bottled at 46%. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, with a nutty edge, the ex-Bourbon adding vanilla beneath. The recorded notes run to a nutty note, a sherried character, chocolate, a cooked mash note, dried fruit and a fragrant lift. A sherried Fife Lowland malt.
