This Boutique Barrels 1996 is a hand-picked ex-Bourbon cask release from Isle of Jura, bottled at a cask strength 56.5% for the Netherlands. The Boutique Barrels line gathers the distillery's selected single casks. Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 for a light, Highland-style spirit.

The distillery's light, clean spirit shows well from a single cask at full strength. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood frames the honeyed malt.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.5%. Vanillin from the ex-Bourbon oak reads as vanilla, oak lactones as coconut, and maltol adds toffee. Clean, honeyed and full at cask strength. A hand-picked boutique Jura.
