Description

This 16 year old carries a vintage longitudinal label, an older edition of Isle of Jura sought for its earlier packaging. Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 to bring work back to the community.

Designed for a light, Highland-style spirit, the distillery's tall stills give a clean make. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood deepens the malt over sixteen years.

Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon wood gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut. The recorded note is chocolate, over the honeyed, maritime island character. A vintage label of the island sixteen.
