Isle of Jura 15 Years Old

This 15 year old carries a vintage 1980s square label, an older edition of Isle of Jura prized for its packaging and its glimpse of the island malt in earlier years. Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 to bring back work.

Designed for a light, Highland-style spirit, the distillery's tall stills give a clean make. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood deepens the malt over fifteen years.

Bottled at 43%. The ex-Bourbon cask supplies vanilla through vanillin, coconut through oak lactones, and a toffee note from maltol. Honeyed and rounded with a gentle maritime note, the slightly higher strength giving it body. A vintage island fifteen.
