Isle of Jura 14 Years Old

The 14 year old sits in Isle of Jura's core range, the island malt at an age where the clean spirit has rounded nicely in oak. Jura is the lone distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 after six decades in ruins.

Built for a light spirit rather than peated Islay smoke, the distillery's tall stills give a clean make. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood deepens the malt over fourteen years.

Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon wood gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut. Light and honeyed with a gentle maritime note, settled by its years in oak. A rounded core island malt.
