Isle of Jura 13 Years Old

The 13 year old is one of Isle of Jura's core age statements, the island malt given a little more time in oak than the standard twelve. Jura is the single distillery on a remote Inner Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 to revive island employment.

Designed for a light, Highland-style spirit, the distillery's tall stills give a clean make that rewards a few extra years. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood rounds the malt over thirteen years.

Bottled at 40%. American oak from the ex-Bourbon barrel gives vanilla and coconut, with maltol lending toffee. Light and honeyed, a touch deeper than the twelve, into a soft finish. A gentle older island malt.
