Isle of Jura 10 Years Old

This 10 year old is the Legacy edition of Isle of Jura's core bottling, the approachable island malt at standard strength. Jura is the single distillery on a remote Inner Hebridean island of some 200 people, rebuilt in 1963 to revive the local economy.

Designed for a light spirit rather than the peat of nearby Islay, Jura runs tall stills for a clean make. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood rounds the malt gently over ten years.

Bottled at 40%. The cask's vanillin reads as vanilla and its oak lactones as coconut, maltol adding a toffee sweetness. Light, honeyed and softly maritime. The easy, everyday face of the island malt.
