Description

This 10 year old is the Origin edition of Isle of Jura's core bottling, the island malt at its most approachable. Jura is the lone distillery on a remote Inner Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 to revive a community whose distillery had stood in ruins since 1901.

Designed to make a light, Highland-style spirit rather than a peaty Islay one, Jura runs very tall stills for a clean make. Matured in ex-Bourbon oak, the wood keeps the malt bright over ten years.

Bottled at 40%. Vanilla and coconut come from the cask's vanillin and oak lactones. The recorded notes run to citrus, fresh fruit, a leafy green lift, a faint solvent note and vanilla. Light, fresh and easy.
