Taylor’s Late Bottled Vintage Port 2020

This is Taylor's Late Bottled Vintage Port 2020, a single-vintage fortified wine from Taylor Fladgate, drawn from the traditional grapes of the upper Douro.

The blend leads on Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz with Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cao. Fermentation is stopped with grape spirit to lock in sweetness, then the wine ages several years in large oak vats before bottling. That extended cask time is what makes an LBV rounded and ready to drink on release, softening the structure a Vintage Port would instead resolve slowly in bottle.

The wine shows deep purple with a ruby rim, a nose of wild strawberry, cassis, raspberry and plum with floral and liquorice notes, and a supple palate carried by fine tannins and crisp damson fruit into a long finish. It pairs with dark chocolate, blue and hard cheeses, and stands up to a cigar or roast and game.
