Taylor’s 20 Years Old Tawny Port in Geschenkbox

This is Taylor's 20 Year Old Tawny Port, a wood-aged fortified wine from Taylor Fladgate presented in a gift box, the twenty-year statement marking the average age of the blended lots.

The wine is blended from the house's reserves of old cask-aged Ports matured in the cool lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia, held in seasoned oak casks of about 630 litres. Two decades of slow oxidative ageing draw the colour to a deep amber tawny and build the mellow, concentrated flavours that define the style, with the small evaporative losses of long cask time intensifying the wine.

Expect an intense amber colour and an opulent nose of spicy, jammy and nutty aromas over a fine oakiness, then a rich palate of dried peach, fig, dried apricot and cinnamon with a crème brûlée depth and a long, mellow finish. Serve it lightly chilled as a digestif with dried fruit and nuts, dark chocolate, or a cigar.
