Description
Bottled in 2022 under the Single Cask Release banner, this Shortcross single malt shows Rademon Estate at full strength. The Co. Down estate distillery, founded in 2015, is best known for playful mash bills and cask work; here the approach is stripped back, first fill ex-bourbon and no dilution at all.
At 61.5% the spirit is vivid, honey, vanilla and fresh coconut from the active American oak riding white pepper and intense barley sweetness, with orchard fruit surfacing as water goes in. It carries no age statement, but the energy of the young estate malt is the point, undiluted and unpolished.
