Description
Shortcross is the whiskey of Rademon Estate, the family distillery founded by the Boyd Carr family on their Co. Down estate in 2015 and known for inventive mash bills. Distiller's Duo, released in 2023 for the Irish market, is a 5 Years Old blend that brings two of the estate's own distillates together in a single bottling.
Maturation runs through ex-bourbon barrels and virgin American white oak, the refill wood lending honey and soft vanilla while the virgin oak adds toasted coconut and fresh sawn spice. Bottled at 46%, it carries the bright orchard fruit and gentle pepper typical of the young estate's spirit, cask sweetness and distillate character in balance.
