Description
Scavi and Ray makes Ice Prestige as a spumante designed to be poured over ice, with the brand's trademark soft, fine bead that comes from a lower carbon dioxide content and bottle pressure. The blend is 60 percent Glera with 40 percent Verduzzo, both picked at optimum ripeness, which adds a little extra fruit weight to the base. It is a tank-method wine, fermented to preserve the fresh, primary aromatics rather than build autolytic depth, and finished Extra Dry so it stays balanced when ice dilutes it in the glass.
The colour is light straw with a soft, gentle perlage. The nose is fresh and fruity, with pear, apple and citrus lifted by white peach, a touch of mango and a light floral note. The palate is soft and refreshing with a fine bead and an easy, fruity finish. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees, adding two or three ice cubes on warm days. It works as an aperitif and alongside light salads, fresh fish and fruit-led desserts.
