Description
Scavi & Ray sources this Frizzante from the Prosecco DOC zone in the Veneto, working with the Glera grape at the centre of the region. As a frizzante it carries a lighter pressure than a full spumante, which is why it wears a screw cap, and the second fermentation runs in a pressurised tank by the Charmat method to preserve the primary fruit and floral character of Glera. Total acidity of around 5.5 grams keeps it lively, and at 17 grams of residual sugar it sits in an extra dry style, fruity but finishing clean.
The colour is a light yellow with faint green reflections and a fine perlage. The nose shows green apple and tangy citrus with a delicate floral edge, and the palate is fresh and lightly tingling before a dry, clean finish that leaves an impression of freshness. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees as an aperitif or as the base for a Bellini or an Aperol Spritz. It pairs naturally with antipasti, summer salads, seafood and grilled white fish, and the handy small bottle makes it an easy single serve.
