Sandeman Fine White is a White Port from the Douro, built from high-altitude white grapes at 19.5% ABV, offering pale straw fruit and light spice for chilled and long serves.

Description
Fine White comes from Sandeman, the Douro house founded in London in 1790. It is made from traditional white Douro grapes such as Gouveio, Malvasia Fina, Codega and Viosinho, drawn from high-altitude vineyards in the Cima Corgo, then fortified with grape spirit at the point that balances body against natural sweetness.
The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed, fermented under controlled temperature with a period of skin maceration to draw out character, and fortified when the winemaker judges the density right. After harvest the wines rest in the Douro through winter before moving to Sandeman's centuries-Old lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for ageing in oak, in line with the traditional Port system.
The style is pale straw with a tropical-fruit nose lifted by light vanilla and a fine wood note, the palate crisp and lightly sweet with a soft, refreshing finish. Serve well chilled as an aperitif, long over ice with tonic and a slice of citrus, or alongside salted almonds and light seafood.
