This 10 Years Old Tawny is the entry point to Sandeman's aged range, from the Douro house founded in London in 1790. It blends reserves of red Douro Port around an average of ten years old, fortified during fermentation and matured oxidatively in oak casks in the Vila Nova de Gaia lodges.

A decade of gradual air contact in wood is what defines the wine. The colour matures from ruby toward tawny brick-red, the fruit deepens and dries, and the harder edges of a young Port smooth into a rounder, nuttier profile. It is bottled when ready and pours without further ageing.

Expect an intense red-tawny colour with brick shades and an elegant nose of ripe fruit, jam and nuts touched by vanilla and raisin, carried on a smooth, mellow palate. Serve lightly chilled as a digestif, with a cheese board, or alongside nut tarts and dried fruit. The bottle comes in a gift box.
