Description
Moët & Chandon makes Nectar Impérial Rosé as its most openly fruity, fuller style, a blend led by Pinot Noir with Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The wine is made by the traditional method, with a second fermentation in bottle and ageing on the lees for savoury depth, then finished with a higher dosage of around 30 grams so the palate reads soft and opulent rather than bone dry. This is the Luminous Edition in a three litre bottle, with a light in the base and a wooden crate.
The colour is an intense rosé with a lively bead. Red berries, sun ripened peach and strawberry lead the nose, and the palate is dominated by ripe red fruit with caramel and a creamy edge, closing long with a fresh acidity that balances the sweetness. Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees, or over ice given its fruity weight. It suits fruit desserts, macarons, white chocolate and lightly spiced or Asian dishes.
