Description
Moët & Chandon makes Brut Impérial at Épernay as its flagship, dressed here in a festive limited edition decorated with golden stars and fireworks. The cuvée blends Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, and is made by the traditional method, with a second fermentation in bottle followed by ageing on the lees. That autolysis builds a toasted, nutty layer beneath the orchard fruit, while the blend keeps the wine balanced and versatile. A dosage near 9 grams per litre sits in the Brut range, so the finish stays dry.
The colour is a clear golden yellow with a green shimmer and an even bead. The nose shows green apple, roasted cashew and vanilla. The palate is lively, with white peach, pear and apple, plus citrus and a touch of gooseberry, closing full and long. Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a fine aperitif and pairs with seafood starters and fish in light sauces, or a plate of shellfish.
