Description
Moët et Chandon Rose Imperial is the pink expression of the house style, built to be fruit-forward and expressive. The blend is led by Pinot Noir at around 40 to 50 percent with about 10 percent still red wine for colour, supported by Pinot Meunier for roundness and Chardonnay for freshness, with reserve wines adding consistency. It is made by the traditional method, with second fermentation in the bottle and ageing on the lees, and finished at a Brut dosage of around 7 g/l so it stays dry and balanced. The magnum supports slow, even development.
The colour is a radiant rose with amber reflections and a fine, lively bead. The nose is intense, with strawberry, raspberry and cherry alongside red berries, a floral rose note and a fine touch of pepper. The palate is fresh and fruity with an elegant structure, closing clean and balanced. Serve at around 10 to 12 degrees in a tulip glass to let the bouquet open. It works as an aperitif and alongside sushi, seafood, light starters and berry desserts.
