Description
Moët & Chandon is the largest of the Champagne houses, and Rosé Impérial is its non-vintage pink cuvee. The blend uses the three classic Champagne grapes, with Pinot Noir setting the fruit and structure, Pinot Meunier adding roundness and Chardonnay lending freshness, while a portion of still red wine gives the colour. A second fermentation in bottle and ageing on the lees build a fine mousse and a gentle bready character, and a Brut dosage of around 7 grams per litre keeps the wine dry. This edition arrives in a Love gift box for occasions and giving.
The colour is a bright rosé with a fine perlage. The nose shows red fruits, with strawberry, raspberry and cherry over a floral top note. The palate carries intense berry fruit alongside a peach note and a fresh, dry finish of good length. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a tulip-shaped glass. It works as an aperitif and alongside summer dishes, light poultry and berry desserts.
