Description
Moët & Chandon works from Épernay, and its Rosé Impérial is the fruit-forward rosé in the house's core range, presented here in a gift box. The blend leads with Pinot Noir, supported by Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, with red-wine components giving the pink colour. It is made by the traditional method, seeing a second fermentation in bottle followed by ageing on the lees, which lends a creamy underpinning to the red fruit. The style is set to be vibrant and expressive, with dosage in the Brut range keeping the finish dry.
The colour is a bright pink with a fine, lively bead. The nose shows wild strawberry, raspberry, red currant and cherry, lifted by citrus and a light floral note. The palate is fruity and lively, its red-berry character balanced by fresh acidity and a soft, creamy texture, closing clean. Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes a festive aperitif and pairs with grilled salmon and duck, roast poultry or a bowl of red berries.
