Description
Moët & Chandon's Rosé Impérial is the house's non-vintage pink Champagne, built on the three classic grapes. Pinot Noir forms the backbone with intensity and structure, Pinot Meunier brings fruity fullness and Chardonnay adds elegance and freshness, with a portion of still red wine giving the colour. Reserve wines from earlier years lend consistency and depth. The wine is made by the traditional method, with a second fermentation in bottle and ageing on the lees, and a dosage of around 7 grams per litre keeps it in dry Brut territory.
The glass shows a bright rosé with amber reflections and a fine bead. The nose is lively, with strawberry, raspberry and cherry alongside a floral rose accent and a touch of pepper. The palate carries intense berry fruit, blackcurrant and a peach note with a fresh, menthol edge, closing dry and long. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a tulip-shaped glass. It suits an aperitif, seafood, light starters and berry desserts.
