Description
Moët & Chandon builds Rosé Impérial on the three classic Champagne grapes, led by Pinot Noir at 40 to 50 percent with a portion of still red wine for colour and red-fruit intensity, backed by Pinot Meunier for fruit and Chardonnay for freshness, plus reserve wines for consistency. Made by the traditional method with ageing on the lees, it carries a Brut dosage of around 7 g/l, so the wine finishes dry despite its generous fruit. This half-bottle format suits an aperitif or a smaller table.
The wine is a radiant rosé with amber reflections and a fine, lively bead. The nose is intense with strawberry, raspberry and cherry over a floral rose note and a hint of pepper. The palate shows juicy berry fruit and cassis with a peach edge and a subtle menthol freshness, finishing elegant and long. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a tulip glass to concentrate the aromatics. It works as an aperitif and alongside poultry, light fish dishes and berry desserts.
