Description
Moët & Chandon makes this Nectar Impérial at Épernay, presented here in a gift box, blending more than a hundred wines drawn mainly from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The wine is made by the traditional method, with a second fermentation in bottle followed by maturation on the lees before bottling. The higher dosage gives the cuvée its soft, sweet Demi-Sec character, while the breadth of the blend keeps it balanced and full. It is built for celebration and for the sweeter end of the table rather than as a dry aperitif.
The colour is an intense gold with a fine bead. The nose bursts with exotic fruit, pineapple and mango, alongside mirabelle plum, apricot and a hint of vanilla. The palate is lush and creamy, its tropical fruit lifted by fresh grapefruit, closing long and persistent. Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It suits foie gras, blue cheese and yellow exotic fruits, nougat and toffee, or Indian and Chinese dishes with nuts.
