Description
Moët & Chandon makes this Nectar Impérial at Épernay as one of the house's most characterful cuvées, a modern and opulent Demi-Sec. The blend combines Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, weighted towards powerful, fruit-driven components, and it is made by the traditional method with extended maturation on the lees. A higher dosage gives the softer, sensual style that sets it apart from the classic Brut, and the careful selection of base wines keeps the balance between richness and freshness.
The colour is a brilliant gold with a fine bead. The nose is full of tropical fruit, with pineapple, mango and stone fruit, and a delicate floral edge. The palate is soft, generous and round, with sweet fruit, a hint of vanilla and a lively structure, closing balanced and long. Serve chilled at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It suits exotic cuisine built on mango, coconut or mild curry, fruit-based desserts, and roast duck breast with a fruity sauce.
