Description
Moët & Chandon has been based in Épernay since 1743, and Brut Impérial is its reference cuvée, blended from Chardonnay for freshness and finesse, Pinot Noir for structure and depth, and Pinot Meunier for fruit and smoothness. Made by the traditional method, the wine ages in the house cellars on the lees to build the fine bead, balance and bready complexity that mark the style, with the Brut dosage keeping the finish dry. This standard bottle wears the gold sleeve design, made to sit well on a celebratory table.
The wine is a brilliant gold with a fine, long-lasting bead. The nose reveals ripe white fruit, citrus and white flowers over toasted bread and a nutty edge. The palate is lively, elegant and balanced, with crisp freshness and hints of stone fruit and honey into a long, refined finish. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It works as an aperitif and alongside oysters, seafood, sushi, light fish dishes and white poultry.
