Description
Moët & Chandon designed Ice Impérial Rosé for pouring over ice, and the higher dosage is deliberate, giving the wine the weight and sweetness to hold up when chilled hard and diluted. The blend runs on the three Champagne grapes, with Pinot Noir for structure and intensity, Pinot Meunier for fruit and fullness and Chardonnay for freshness. Made by the traditional method with a second fermentation in bottle and maturation on the lees, it carries a Demi-Sec dosage of roughly 40 grams that places it firmly in the sweeter camp.
The wine is a bright pink with golden glints and a lively, fine bead. Raspberry, strawberry and cherry lead the nose, with tropical fruit, rose petal and a light spice. The palate is fresh, round and opulent, with fruit sweetness set against lively acidity and a creamy texture, closing long and fruity. Serve at 6 to 8 degrees over ice in a large wine glass, with mint, lime zest or berries if you like. Suited to fresh fruit, berry desserts and white chocolate.
