Description
Moët et Chandon is one of the largest and oldest houses in Champagne, based in Epernay. This at-home pack presents the house Brut style across six 20cl bottles with bottle sippers, a format built for informal sharing rather than the standard bottle. The wine follows the traditional method, with a second fermentation in the bottle and ageing on the lees that builds the biscuity, bready character alongside the fresh Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier fruit. The Brut dosage keeps the finish dry and clean.
The colour is pale gold with a fine, steady bead. The nose leads with green apple, pear and citrus peel, backed by toasted bread, fresh dough and a light biscuit note from time on the lees. The palate is crisp and balanced, with a dry, refreshing finish. Serve well chilled at around 8 to 10 degrees in a tulip glass. It works as an aperitif and alongside oysters, white fish and a plate of hard nutty cheese.
