Description
From the Private Cellar Edition, Loch Lomond Group's series drawing on the last surviving Littlemill casks, this 27 Year Old is a 1990 vintage of 500 bottles at cask strength, among the very last years the distillery produced before falling silent in 1992.
Twenty-seven years in ex-Bourbon matured the light Lowland spirit through slow oxidation and gentle extraction, the low-tannin oak lending vanillin and lactones while the angel's share eased the cask down toward this strength.
At 51.3% it shows citrus, cooked fruit, hay, honey and a leafy lift, vanilla beneath, the soft Lowland style matured and undiluted. A late-period Littlemill from a closed distillery, and increasingly hard to find. A Private Cellar 27.
