Description
The Laing family has bottled whisky from Glasgow since 1948, Douglas Laing carrying the name. This bottling is a 26 year old Littlemill, from cask DL 10599, laid down in 1988 and drawn off in 2014. Nothing new will ever come from Bowling, which makes survivors like this increasingly hard to find.
Twenty-six years of ex-Bourbon soften Littlemill's light, buttery Lowland spirit.
Bottled undiluted at 55.7%, the ex-Bourbon brings vanilla and a touch of coconut. Creamy fudge, honey and a floral lift on the close. The bourbon cask's lactones read as coconut and the lignin vanillin as vanilla, gentle on a light Lowland spirit. At such an age the spirit has given freely to the angels, the strength easing as the flavour deepens.
