Littlemill 24 Years Old 1990 (Small Batch)

Cadenhead's was founded in Aberdeen in 1842 and is Scotland's oldest independent bottler, now based in Campbeltown. The cask was filled in 1990 and bottled in 2015, a 24 year old Littlemill. A finite legacy from a vanished distillery, growing rarer with each bottling.

Twenty-four years in the bourbon cask polish its creamy-fudge Lowland sweetness.

At its natural 53.7%, vanilla rises from the ex-Bourbon over the soft fruit. It carries a waxy note. Wood sugars from the caramelised hemicellulose give a light toffee, while lignin yields the vanillin behind the vanilla.
