Littlemill 16 Years Old 1991 (Murray McDavid)

The Murray McDavid name, founded in 1996, became known for adventurous cask finishing. The cask was filled in 1991 and bottled in 2007, a 16 year old Littlemill. Once these casks are gone, Littlemill is gone with them.

From an ex-Bourbon cask, sixteen years draw out Littlemill's grassy, honeyed make.

Bottled at 46%, the ex-Bourbon adds vanilla and a honeyed oak note. On the palate, honey, a malt note, new wood, a nutty note, an oily texture, old wood. Decades of slow oxidation turned the spirit's aldehydes to acids and then to fruity esters, the ex-Bourbon adding vanilla beneath.
