Description
Keeper's Coin is the 16 Years Old expression in The Dublin Liberties range, named with the gothic relish the old Liberties quarter of Dublin inspires. The distillery on Mill Street only began distilling in 2019, so malt of this age is carefully sourced stock, selected and finished by the Liberties team in the bonder tradition that built Irish whiskey. Batch 02 runs to just 200 bottles for the German market.
The whiskey spent its long maturation in first fill bourbon barrels before a finishing period in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, the sweetest of the Jerez styles. Expect the vanilla and coconut backbone of American oak wrapped in PX raisin, fig and dark honey, with toasted oak and gentle spice through the finish. Bottled at 46%, it sits at the top of the regular Dublin Liberties ladder.
