Description

This Whisky³ is a 10 year old from 2015, matured in a Port cask, number 15/911, released for the Whisky³ collaboration. An outturn of 231 bottles. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, was the first new distillery on Islay in over 124 years.

The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach. Matured in a single Port cask, the wine wood adds plum and cherry.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.5%. The Port gives plum and cherry with a jammy sweetness while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to a fragrant lift, dried hay, honey, a medicinal edge, an oily texture and a sherried character. A Port single cask.
