This Kilchoman x Land Rover 639 is a small batch collaboration, vatted from ex-Bourbon and Pedro Ximenez casks. A rare outturn of 639 bottles, the number echoing the release name. Anthony Wills founded Kilchoman in 2005; it is the only farm distillery on Islay.
Every stage from malting to bottling happens at Rockside Farm. Matured in ex-Bourbon and Pedro Ximenez casks, the PX brings a sweet dark fruit to the bourbon base.
Bottled at its natural cask strength of 51.3%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Pedro Ximenez raisin and date from its melanoidins, while peat phenols carry the smoke. A rare collaborative small batch.
