Kilchoman Uniquely Islay Series – An T-Earrach 2025 8 Years Old 2017

An T-Earrach 2025 is the spring release of Kilchoman's Uniquely Islay Series, an 8 year old from 2017 matured in Sauternes, drawn from cask 17/515. An outturn of 294 bottles for Germany. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is Islay's only farm distillery.

The distillery grows and malts barley on site and bottles on the farm. Matured in a single Sauternes cask, the sweet wine wood adds honeyed fruit to the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.8%. The Sauternes gives honeyed apricot and candied citrus while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to fresh fruit, fresh oak, a rubbery note, smoke, citrus and a coal-gas edge. A Sauternes spring single cask from the seasonal series.
