Kilchoman Uniquely Islay Series – An Samhradh 6 Years Old 2015

An Samhradh is the summer release of Kilchoman's Uniquely Islay Series, a 6 year old from 2015 drawn from ex-Bourbon cask 685. An outturn of 265 bottles for Germany. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, was the first new distillery on Islay in over 124 years.

The distillery malts on site and bottles on the farm, keeping the whole process in one place. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over six years, the wood frames the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 58%. The ex-Bourbon lends vanilla and citrus, the peat phenols a layer of smoke. The recorded notes run to chocolate, citrus, a coal-gas edge, a fragrant lift, a green leafy note and dried hay. A summer single cask from the seasonal series.
