Kilchoman Uniquely Islay Series – An Samhradh 2023 11 Years Old 2012

An Samhradh 2023 is the summer release of Kilchoman's Uniquely Islay Series, an 11 year old from 2012 matured in ex-Bourbon with Sauternes, drawn from cask 592. An outturn of 240 bottles for Germany. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, was the first new distillery on Islay in over 124 years.

Every stage from malting to bottling happens at Rockside Farm. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon and Sauternes cask, the wine wood adds a honeyed note to the bourbon base.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.2%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Sauternes honeyed apricot, while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded note is fresh fruit over the smoky core. A summer single cask from the seasonal series.
