Description

An Geamhradh is the winter release of Kilchoman's Uniquely Islay Series, here an 8 year old from 2012 matured in Oloroso, drawn from cask 552. An outturn of 328 bottles for Germany. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is the island's only farm distillery.

The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach. Matured in a single Oloroso cask, the sherry wood pulls the young peated spirit towards dark fruit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.6%. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to a mossy earthiness and a sherried character. A winter sherry single cask.
