Description

This 13 year old from 2010 is the sibling to cask 479 in Kilchoman's Sister Casks, A Maturation Journey, an ex-Bourbon single cask number 478 giving 248 bottles for Germany. The pair shows how casks filled together diverge over time. The Wills family's Kilchoman, founded in 2005, is the only farm distillery on Islay.

The distillery follows its barley from field to bottle on the one Islay farm. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over thirteen years, the wood frames the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.5%. Vanilla and citrus come from the ex-Bourbon wood, with peat phenols carrying the smoke. The twin bourbon cask to 479.
