Kilchoman The Kilchoman Club – 7th Edition 12 Years Old 2006

This 12 Years Old was the 7th Edition for The Kilchoman Club, the distillery's membership releases, vatted from two Oloroso casks from 2006, Kilchoman's first full year. An outturn of 1,313 bottles. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is the island's only farm distillery.

The distillery malts on site and bottles on the farm, keeping the whole process in one place. Matured in Oloroso casks over twelve years, the sherry wood wraps the early peated spirit in dark fruit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.2%. Dried fruit comes from the Oloroso, its melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, with peat phenols carrying the smoke. The recorded notes run to chocolate, citrus, dried fruit, a medicinal edge, a nutty note and a rubbery note. An early club sherried vintage.
