Kilchoman The Kilchoman Club – 4th Edition 4 Years Old 2011

This 4 Years Old was the 4th Edition for The Kilchoman Club, vatted from Sauternes casks from 2010 and 2011. An outturn of 909 bottles. Set up by Anthony Wills in 2005, Kilchoman remains Islay's only farm distillery.

Kilchoman handles malting through bottling on its own Islay farm. Matured in Sauternes casks, the sweet wine wood adds honeyed fruit to the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 60%. The Sauternes gives honeyed apricot and candied citrus while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to dried fruit, fresh fruit, honey, an oily texture, smoke and chocolate. A young, powerful club Sauternes vatting.
