Description

This Single Cask is a 9 year old from 2016, ex-Bourbon cask 16/1103. An outturn of 232 bottles for Germany. Anthony Wills founded Kilchoman in 2005; it is the only farm distillery on Islay.

Malting, distilling and bottling all happen on the farm, the barley to bottle way. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over nine years, the wood frames the peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.6%. Vanilla and citrus come from the ex-Bourbon wood, with peat phenols carrying the smoke. The recorded notes run to citrus, fresh fruit, a medicinal edge and vanilla. A bourbon single cask for Germany.
